Horatio Spafford lost his son and four daughters and most of his property holdings through tragic circumstances. On his voyage to meet his wife Anna, he was inspired to write the song, “It is well with my soul.” Unlike many heartbreak songs, it focuses less on what was lost and more on where peace, love and hope can be found. Today we reflect on how we can experience peace that seems so elusive to heart and mind. A message by Janet Dougherty.
